Take a Sunset Cruise in Lewes

What better way to enjoy this historic beach town than to experience the same waters that Dutch settlers and British sailors once traveled before reaching our shores?

Lewes is home to a charming town, beautiful beaches, and ample opportunities to enjoy the coast and waters that lap up against its shores. If you're coming to stay at the Lewes House, you're probably already planning to enjoy time on our beaches. But, an even better way to experience Lewes is to get out on the water.

Just a short 7 minute walk down the road from the Lewes House you will find an excellent opportunity to do just that. Cape Water Tours offers cruises and tours that allow you to experience the best of our southern Delaware waterways. With a variety of tours and cruises offered, a friendly crew, easy access for all ages, and the ability to bring your own snacks and beverages, this is truly the best way to spend an evening with friends or family. Cape Water Tours also offers osprey banding tours, eco tours, lighthouse tours, and even cruises with live music!

On our recent trip out on the water with Cape Water Tours, we experienced the most beautiful sunset while we sipped on our drinks and enjoyed our very own cheese board. The boat is wide and easy to navigate with a roof to shade you from the sun or the elements if it were to spritz while you were out. There is truly nothing better than floating out on the water, feeling a light sea breeze, and breathing in the salty air.

You can book your own tour or cruise on the Cape Water Tours website. We recommend booking in advance to reserve your spot. Don't forget to pack your own corkscrew or bottle opener if you plan to BYOB. The booths on the boat are great for spreading out your packed snacks, but you need to have at least 4 people in your party in order to have a booth table or you can join another party. We recommend checking their website for a coupon, as they often offer $2 off your first trip.
